What’s In My Travel Makeup Bag?

Traveling with makeup is a hassle in many ways, you may struggle with what to pack, how many items to pack, how much space you have to pack, what may break easily, what may spill, the list of concerns is endless. As someone who had a bad habit of wanting to pack their entire room when traveling: I understand the struggle. And in getting my life together, finally, I decided to show you guys what I pack in my makeup travel bag, right in time for the holidays!

I recommend traveling with a foundation you know you can build the coverage on, so I always reach for my L’oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation. To highlight under the eye, I use MAC Studio Finish Concealer; it’s heavy duty and versatile & to set the highlight I use e.l.f. High Definition Powder and because it’s translucent it can be used to set other areas of the face as well. Since I’m not big on cream concealers and want to save as much space as possible, I’ll leave my L.A. Girl Pro. Conceal at home and grab my Black Radiance Pressed Powder instead.

For the eyes, I recommend grabbing an eyeshadow palette or duo/trio/quad like the Smashbox Photo Op Eyeshadow Trio, which gives you three colors in one package, again saving space. I have to to pack my true and tested Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade and use the same MAC concealer for making sure my eyebrows are the most fleek. I’m almost always, never in the mood to put on lashes so I’ll reach for the next best thing (from the drugstore) Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara.

Of course to prime, I have to use the Black Radiance True Complexion Shine Control Primer and finish with Mario Badescu’s Facial Spray. Is it kind of weird that I put on my finishing spray before my blush and highlighter? NYX’s powder blush in Bordeaux is one of my favorite, brown-girl friendly shades, and during a time when your makeup is most likely to be damaged, I like to pack the inexpensive, but highlight-blinging Milani Tantastic Baked Bronzer.

Lips are the easiest because we all carry about five different shades in our purse, so we ALWAYS have options, but if I had to pack just one option, it’d be my all-time favorite combination of Colourpop’s liquid lipstick in Limbo and NYX Matte Lip Cream in Abu Dhabi. The mix of dark brown and nude leave you with a broad spectrum of brown shades to play with.
